Initial Assessment
A one and a half to two hours face to face: A full and comprehensive speech, language and communication assessment. This involves taking a full case history and discussion with you regarding your concerns and your expectations for therapy. The assessment will consider your child’s understanding of spoken language, expressive language and speech sounds (as appropriate). This will conclude with a feedback session with you and is followed by a full written report of the results and recommendations. Where your child already has a named NHS Speech & Language Therapist, liaison will take place with your consent.
Therapy Session
One hour face to face: An individualised and child centered session, in the venue of your choosing. The session consists of a minimum of 45 minutes direct work with your child, dependent on levels of attention, followed by liaison with you to discuss progress, strategies and ‘homework tasks’, to ensure therapy is as effective as possible.
